ALF was a sitcom that aired on NBC from 1986 to 1990. The title character was a friendly extraterrestrial nicknamed ALF (an acronym for Alien Life Form), who crash lands in the garage of the suburban middle-class Tanner family. ALF was performed by puppeteer/creator Paul Fusco.
As cats were the equivalent of cattle on his home planet, ALF made occasional attempts to catch Lucky, the family cat, with the intention of making the cat a meal. He was never successful.
