The 50’s were dark days.
They made switchblades illegal because they were dangerous, available, and were supposedly used for no other purpose than to attack or menace. Ignoring their 1000 other practical uses. Ignoring the fact that you can use it many different ways, for all kinds of reasons.
But since the 70’s handguns ownership has skyrocketed. These are legal. These are DESIGNED with a singular purpose. That purpose is TO KILL PEOPLE. I’m not anti gun. I’m just saying that things such as utility weapons (like the switchblade) are illegal because they COULD BE USED as a lethal weapon. Yet people walk the streets with loaded guns which, by their very nature, ARE lethal weapons.
Plus, I’d like to see someone try and open a box with with a gun.
