The real trick is the road through the mountain is a big curve to channel the shock wave from any blast around and through the other entrance so none of the pressure wave damages any door.
Wow. So “War Games” was accurate in this regard…
Apparently the scenic door that they built for War Games was so large and heavy that it actually started to crush the cement floor at the studio. ADD MORE LOCKS!
