NY in the 80s 190 by stevensiegel260 on Flickr.
I could say things about New York, my home base, the place on my birth certificate. It wasn’t always a great city, and was particularly terrifying in the 80s when I’d go there with my family to see their old haunts and relatives, but I amseething at what we’ve let that place become. Every time I go back my heart breaks a little more. A rich cultural history demolished, the working class who made that city great all priced out and relocated. Congratulations - you moved there to experience the grittiness, then washed it all away.
