Another great person has passed, Brian Hencel. He was a year ahead of me in high school and we’ve vaguely kept in touch over the years. He worked at the other Jesuit boys school in St. Louis, we share many of the same friends, the same gym for a few years, the usual St. Louis circles.
He was always quick with an hilarious joke, always laughing, and always kind. Truly one of the most earnest, sincere, and honest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. He would literally give you the shirt off of his back.
Vaya con Dios. Be well. Rest.
And, as always, fuck cancer.
