Is This The Death Of American Retail?



Retail rents aren’t recovering from the recession, according to a study on commercial real estate in the last 7 years. After a long, steady, and predictable rise in retail rent up until the economic crash in 2008, the market crashed thereafter and the retail rent index has remained at 18.5 percent, a full 3 percent lower than it had been in the heyday of 2008.



It’s fucking over. It’s time to do some serious damage control. We’re becoming dinosaurs … while we watch …


Stop trying to put band-aids on bullet holes and amputated limbs and do something else instead.
