The Two Things Every LD Should Remember

The Two Things Every LD Should Remember:

iamchicago:

A good read from Bandit Lighting’s “Bandit Dimmer Beach” blog.

Be confident in what you have created.

&

Remember who your audience is.

Be confident. You got yourself behind that desk for a reason. Somebody wants you to run their lights for them. That’s a great thing; be…

Meh.

As an professional LD it really comes down to, “Don’t fuck up”.

Also, remember who your audience is. Sure. That’s nice. But really the audience is whoever the fuck is cutting your check. It isn’t about being given the privilege to light a show, it is about GETTING PAID TO LIGHT THAT SHOW.

Good feelings don’t pay bills.

Fight when you think you need to fight, but remember who pays you. Sure you have this gig now, but next year? I’d rather have a steady gig than not getting brought back to light a show because my “art” got in the way of their vision.

This is about the mortgage not about me.
